Typical Clinical Schedule

A typical schedule varies with the year of the AuD program, but usually consists of two to three clinic sessions per week, in which a session consists of a 3 to 4 hour block. In addition, there are planning meetings/conferences each week with assigned supervisors. If a student is on a graduate assistantship, as many as ten (10) additional client contact hours and/or graduate assistant hours are scheduled per week.

First year students observe on-campus practicum the first fall semester and are assigned to clinics within the Memphis Speech and Hearing Center the first spring semester. Assignment to an off-campus facility (rotation) occurs as early as the first summer term. Second and third year students are assigned to both on-campus and off-site facilities. Fourth year students are assigned to a full-time 9 to 12 month externship.

Below are links to examples of typical schedules for a 2nd or 3rd year student without a Graduate Assistantship and with a graduate assistantship, respectively.
