Typical Clinic Schedule

A typical clinic schedule consists of nine (9) client contact hours a week. In addition, there are planning meetings/conferences each week with the assigned supervisors. If a student is on a clinical assistantship, as many as ten (10) additional client contact hours and/or assistant hours are scheduled a week. Note: many of our students are on clinical assistantship; therefore, an 18-19 hour clinic week is common.

First year students are typically assigned to the clinics within the university system, but can be placed at an off-site facility as early as their second semester. Second year students will do the majority of their clinical work off-site in area schools and hospitals. Students assigned to a hospital placement will work on average two full days a week.

Below are links to examples of a typical schedule for a first year student.
