Memphis Speech and Hearing Center
Phone 901-678-5858 to make an appointment.

The Memphis Speech and Hearing Center (MSHC) was established by its Board of Directors in 1947 and began offering a full range of services to individuals with communication disorders. It is located in the heart of the Medical District within walking distance of major medical facilities.

In 1967 the MSHC became affiliated with the University of Memphis and is now the site of the School of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (accredited by ASHA’s Council on Academic Accreditation). It houses the program’s administrative officials, academic and clinical faculties, staff, classrooms, clinical equipment, and state of the art research laboratories. The MSHC also has a clinical facility located on the University of Memphis’ south campus. All of these make up the degree granting programs that offer the MA, AuD, and PhD. The combination of an outstanding academic faculty with the Center’s highly regarded clinical faculty and facilities make it one of the premiere speech and hearing programs in the United States.

The Center’s professional staff provides speech, language, and hearing evaluations and treatment programs tailored to individual needs. A wide array of equipment and materials makes it possible to evaluate and treat individuals of any age. Treatment plans are based on evaluation results and in collaboration with the client and family members.
